Some lyrics on the track “Crucify The Dead” sung by rock icon [lastfm]Ozzy Osbourne[/lastfm] on [lastfm]Slash[/lastfm]’s new album have got people speculating that they’re about former [lastfm]Guns n’ Roses [/lastfm]band mate [lastfm]Axl Rose[/lastfm].  The two have been on the outs for years, but Slash has repeatedly said that he’d be open to a reconciliation, even though he suspects that Axl wouldn’t.

Read to what Slash has to say about the lyrics in question after the jump!

The lyrics on “Crucify The Dead,” that have got people talking say:

A loaded gun jammed by a rose, the thorns are not around your head, your ego cut you till you bled.

If you weigh in not only the tumultuous relationship between the guitarist and lead singer it certainly does sound like their aimed at [lastfm]Axl Rose[/lastfm].  However, Slash claims otherwise.  The lyrics were written by [lastfm]Ozzy Osbourne[/lastfm] who, through the span of his career has worked with more people than we can count cause Slash to say:

It was an Ozzy thing. He said the song represents the situation he’s had in his relationships with other musicians.  Yes, there were some key lines in there that were very suggestive of my own experience – but [Ozzy] said, ‘No, this is just an overall picture of the issues.’

There you have it.  So, we guess, if Axl gets upset he should probably forget about taking his rage out on Slash some more and turn things towards Ozzy who obviously knows how to deal with a megalomaniac musician.
