It’s Star Wars Month! Darth Vader Is A Sellout.

starwarsgroomsmen1 Its Star Wars Month! Darth Vader Is A Sellout.

Star Wars was first released on May 25th 1977.  So many of us remember waiting in long lines just to see the epic film while our parents left us to go shopping in mall as we braved the line with our bratty sister, who could never fully appreciate Star Wars anyway.

Now, some 33 years later, Star Wars is still part of our everyday lives. Think about it.  Not ONE day goes by that SOMETHING Star Wars related won’t pop up.  Just this morning, when I was looking for my cell phone, I grabbed my wife’s and she quickly said, “This is not the cell phone you’re looking for,” in a monotone Obi Won voice.

She even did the hand gesture, no not that one, the swirling finger’s one.  Yes, just like Obi Wan Kenobi.  Yesterday, I was at Target buying deodorant and canned salmon (I really love our new Target with a grocery store in it, but oddly they don’t carry onions, so weird) when I passed a stuffed Yoda pillow.  Today, on facebook an add for Star Wars in Concert came up (Obviously, I’m totally going to go to that.)   See, Star Wars is everywhere.

Star Wars: Robot Chicken, the Family Guy Star Wars Episode, Star Wars Lego Video Game the list goes on and on.  It’s freakin’ endless.  It’s part of our culture.  Now, to celebrate, check out a couple of web videos of how the Universe’s greatest nemesis has been used to sell navigation devices and to incite creativity.   I’m sure you’ve seen a million other hilarious Star Wars related funny stuff and feel free to share.  In the meantime, enjoy, and May The Force Be With You.

And if you’re having trouble viewing the videos, try taking a deep breath and saying, “Help me Obi Wan Kenobi. You’re my only hope.”  See if that works:
