Linda Stein was a real estate agent to the stars and a former punk rock manager bludgeoned to death by her own assistant, whom Stein accused of stealing.

According to the New York Times, Samantha Stein-Wells, one of the victim’s two daughters, said to Natavia S. Lowery, “You are a disgusting person.” Stein’s other daughter Mandy Stein stated, “Because of Ms. Lowery’s brutal, violent and inhumane behavior, my life has changed forever.”

Lowery’s lawyers are already filing for an appeal, claiming that an earlier videotaped confession of Lowery should be deemed inadmissible. Though ruling Supreme Court Justice Richard Carruthers has no legal say in the matter, he recommended the convicted killer not be eligible for parole:

Miss Lowery acted with an uncommon and almost inhuman degree of coolness and calculation, fully justifying the jury’s conclusion that she took the life of Linda Stein intentionally.
