francis bean cobain Frances Bean Cobain Holds Debut Artshow: Scumf–k

Francis Bean Cobain gives us a look into her young psyche with a series of slightly disturbing notebook sketches that compose her current art show titled “Scum-fuk.”

The 17-year-old daughter of [lastfm]Courtney Love [/lastfm]and the late [lastfm]Kurt Cobain [/lastfm](of [lastfm]Nirvana[/lastfm]) goes under the pseudonym Fiddle Tim and explores themes from fame, feelings towards her mother to cult leaders. If you were hoping to get your hands on a Fiddle Tim original—sadly, you’re out of luck, her show is completely SOLD OUT!

For more information on her debut art show and to see some of her artwork… read on!

Fiddle Tim debuted her collection of notebook sketches at La Luz de Jesus Gallery in Hollywood earlier this month—and has been well received into the art world, completely selling out her show.  With an interesting dark aesthetic, she explores themes that revolve around eerie monster-like creatures accompanied by short threatening phrases.  Like her sketch titled “Civil Conduct,” with an animated depiction of a Frankenstein-like moon that reads: “Be civil or I’ll eat the sun.”

Though it’s up for interpretation, the artist claims the only piece in her collection that references fame in any way is the portrait of G.G. Allin, calling it the center piece of the exhibit.

The artist says she draws inspiration from “Al Columbia, Frank Kozik and…Satan!” And the titles of Fiddle Tim’s pieces are as interesting as the bloated monster-esk creatures she draws: “Goat S–t (I Don’t Owe You S–t), Chopsy Cheech, and Celestial Splendor.”

She kept the price tags fairly low with pieces ranging from $250 to $400. For all of us were too late to bring home one of Fiddle Tim’s sketches, the show will be at the La Luz de Jesus Gallery through August 1. Looking forward to whatever comes next from Miss Cobain…and wishing those who end up with one of her sketches on their wall… a good nights sleep!
