Numerous big-name rockers give their stamp of approval on the upcoming anti-nuclear weaponry documentary Countdown To Zero.  The doc, produced by Oscar-winner Lawrence Bender (Inglorious Bastards) and directed by Lucy Walker (Devil’s Playgroud), covers the history of the atomic bomb to its present day appearance in global affairs.

Packed with dozens of interviews from influential political leaders and backed by these iconic musicians, Countdown To Zero aims to destroy the existence of nuclear weaponry before they destroy us.

Musicians joining the support of the film include [lastfm]Trent Reznor[/lastfm], [lastfm]Weezer[/lastfm], [lastfm]R.E.M.[/lastfm], [lastfm]OK Go[/lastfm], Tom Morello of [lastfm]Rage Against The Machine[/lastfm] and [lastfm]Pearl Jam[/lastfm].

[lastfm]Pearl Jam[/lastfm] even went as far as giving their track “The Fixer” off the 2009 album Backspacer to play during the credits.  Many musicians have campaigned for nuclear disarmament by recording PSA’s as a call to action about the issue and film.

The film is narrated by Gary Oldham and features interviews from Jimmy Carter, Mikhail Gorbachev, Tony Blair, Robert McNamara and Pervez Musharraf. You can help rage against these machines by visiting Countdown To Zero’s website and take part in disarming nuclear weapons before, you know…KABLAM…we’re all fish sticks.
