cbsu24 U2 Plays New Track at 360 Tour Rehearsals

We’ve been waiting not-so-patiently for [lastfm]U2[/lastfm] to retake the stage (this time with Robo-Bono) on its “[lastfm]U2[/lastfm] 360” tour. It looks like the band has been waiting, too – with a new song and some old favorites in tow!

Join us after the jump to find out about some possible additions to the set list.

Footage from fans listening to rehearsals from outside the Olympic Sports Hall in Turin has started popping up on YouTube, and it includes a song that no one, not even the hyper-passionate [lastfm]U2[/lastfm] fans can identify. Lyrics are muffled, of course, but the lines “some things you can’t control” and “some things you have to let go” seem to be involved:

Rumors are floating around online that the new song was one penned for the band’s canceled Glastonbury festival appearance, called “The Flowering Rose of Glastonbury.”

In addition, the band also rehearsed “Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me, Kill Me,” which the band hasn’t performed live since the PopMart tour in 1998, “Miss Sarajevo,” which might be performed as a tribute to Italian tenor [lastfm]Luciano Pavarotti[/lastfm], who sang with the band on the original recording, and even the opening licks to “Gone.”

You’ve only got 10 more months to wait until [lastfm]U2[/lastfm] returns to southern California! Ugh.

To tide you over, here are kittens playing with string:
