Months ago, it had looked bad for [lastfm]U2[/lastfm], with [lastfm]Bono[/lastfm]’s back injury forcing the Irish legends to cancel a full leg of its “U2 360” tour. Last Friday, though, [lastfm]U2[/lastfm] got to put all of the last few months behind it and get back to what it does best…rock. And rock with two new songs, at that!
First is the song we told you about last week (though the titles seems to be the shorter “Glastonbury,” rather than “The Rose of Glastonbury”):
One big note about the performance, too: Look at how spry [lastfm]Bono[/lastfm] looks, especially at the beginning. That’s a good sign.
The second new song is a ballad called “North Star”:
Reports from Olympic Stadium in Turin indicate that [lastfm]Bono[/lastfm] and the boys were in fine form, with the frontman putting in an energetic performance.
The band also added “Miss Sarajevo” to the set list, along with “Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me, Kill Me.”
[lastfm]U2[/lastfm] will tour Europe through early October, then return to the states in May of 2011. The band will make up its previously canceled shows in Anaheim on June 17 and 18, 2011.
