cbsjohnnymarr Johnny Marr Pens TV Theme

Fresh off of his work with [lastfm]Hans Zimmer[/lastfm] for the score to Inception, former [lastfm]Smiths[/lastfm] guitarist [lastfm]Johnny Marr[/lastfm] is taking his signature sound to the small screen this fall, having penned the theme song and some incidental music for a British sitcom, “The Increasingly Poor Decisions Of Todd Margaret.”

The track, titled “Life Is Sweet,” is exactly what one you’d expect from the guitar legend – jangling guitar over a bouncy, fun beat. Hard to remember that he was in a band with the perpetually depressed [lastfm]Morrissey[/lastfm], isn’t it?

(We’re kidding! We’re kidding! Put down the pitchforks, Moz fans!)

The show debuts in America in October on IFC. It features [lastfm]David Cross[/lastfm], Will Arnett and a lot of cringe-worthy comedy:

What American television theme songs could use a touch of Marr? And could they be any worse than the time [lastfm]Beyonce[/lastfm] did the Andy Griffith Show theme?
