johnsface John Lennons Toilet Seat Sold For Thousands At Liverpool Auction

If wanted to buy the toilet seat in which Fab Four member [lastfm]John Lennon[/lastfm] used to do his dirty business on, you missed your chance.  The blue and white porcelain seat was sold to an overseas collector for $14,740 at the 33rd annual [lastfm]Beatles[/lastfm] convention, held in Liverpool, England over the weekend.

John’s john was used when the music legend lived at his house in Tittenhurst Park, Berkshire, from 1969 to 1972.  He gave it to his builder, (another John) John Hancock, whom he told to, “use it as a plant pot.”  The toilet was stored in the builder’s house for 40 years until he died recently.  Click below to see the unusual auction item.  Give poop a chance.

Don’t get me wrong; this is a beautiful looking toilet seat.  Is this something you would buy if you were a die-hard Beatles fan?   Would you use it to say you sat on the same toilet as John Lennon?

Also sold at the auction was a rare mono version of John Lennon and Yoko Ono’s “Two Virgins,” which is known for having the infamous picture of both John and Yoko naked on the cover.

In addition to that, the harmonica that belonged to Lennon’s son Julian was also sold.  The harmonica was given to builder John Hancock as a gift.  Both items sold around $3,900, respectively.
