About time.

It all began with a short-but-sweet cameo for JACKASS 3D. Our favorite snickering idiots appeared on-screen and we were done. That familiar sensation of a rising excitement and a dwindling IQ settled in our hearts with a simple:

The reign of Beavis and Butt-head ended back in 1997, when creator Mike Judge moved on to more projects. Spinoffs like Daria and King of the Hill filled our newly formed television void. Then we were blessed with Office Space and the game was changed. Mike Judge went from creative powerhouse to comedy guru. Still, we missed the simple laffs that resonated when we flipped on MTV and caught two high school burn-outs watching terrible music videos.

Now, MTV really sucks now. For real.

Hopefully with the glorious return to MTV, the station will realize that Beavis and Butt-head are the roots of a channel now bogged with reality shows and porn stars. When the duo begins to watch that very first music video, we wonder… will today’s kids even know what they are looking at?

Here are a couple of our favorite B&B music videos:

  • [lastfm link_type=”similar_artist_radio”]Men Without Hats [/lastfm]- The Safety Dance
  • [lastfm link_type=”similar_artist_radio”]Ween [/lastfm]- Freedom of ’76
  • [lastfm link_type=”similar_artist_radio”]Radiohead [/lastfm]– Creep
