Many of the winners of the 53rd GRAMMY Awards were announced this afternoon during a pre-party gala. Among the rock winners was [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Neil Young[/lastfm], who took home the award for Best Rock Song for “Angry World’ from his recent album Le Noise. He triumphed over Muse, Kings of Leon, Mumford & Sons, and The Black Keys.

Many artists were not present, but a few did show up to accept and give thanks in person, including [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Neil Young[/lastfm], who seemed truly thankful. “This is my first GRAMMY for music, and I appreciate it greatly,” Young said from the podium. “I’m not Mavis [Staples], but I’m close.”
