And just like that, [lastfm link_type=”similar_artist_radio”]Radiohead [/lastfm]returns to the music scene with a surprise album. Wanna get your hands on a copy?

Just like In Rainbows from 2007, Radiohead issues their newest album on the peripherals of the internet. Unlike most bands today, Radiohead has continued to embrace the digital age with online releases. In Rainbows changed the way role of the listener from patron to appraiser, giving the fans the chance to name their ideal album price and pay their suggestion.

With the announcement of The King Of Limbs appearing on their website only FIVE DAYS before release, Radiohead has taken a different route from their 2007  release. With cover art revealed, various audio packages, set prices, etc, one can sense that a critical album element is missing from their website…

Why? Who knows. With In Rainbows, fans were able to pay what they wanted for ten announced songs. Now, will fans pay fifteen dollars for unknown music? How dedicated is the Radiohead following?

It seems that only one thing is known when Radiohead is involved: their cover art is FRIGHTENING.
