Los Angeles Lakers Trade Derek Fisher: 5 Greatest LAL Fish Moments

The NBA Trade Deadline was this Thursday and of course was jam-packed full of deals for every team.

But one trade shocked the Los Angeles Laker faithful to its core.

The long time running mate of Kobe Bryant (who was also drafted with Kobe from University of Arkansas at Little Rock) has been a fan favorite of Los Angeles for years.

Fisher is averaging 5.9 points and 3.3 assist per game in this condensed 66 game season.

Derek Fisher has also won 5 championships over his 13 years with the Lakers.

The Lakers also traded for Cleveland Cavaliers young guards Ramon Sessions and Christian Eyenga for veteran fowards Luke Walton, Jason Kapono and a draft pick.

With the deal for Sessions (who averaging 10.5 points and 5 assist) you can say that the Derek Fisher era was going to end but no one thought this quickly.

The two deals both look great for the Lakers future but still hurt the hearts for the Laker fans across the nation.

Sessions, Hill, and Eyenga are three young developing players that will fit the new Purple and Gold mentality of strong defense, fill the gaping need of a young true point guard and helps bolster the Lakers terrible second unit.

The trade needed to happen and maybe the trade even happened a little late but all in all it still hurts to see Derek Fisher leave the Purple and Gold.

We know that when he decides to retire the Lakers will sign him for a one day deal but we’d rather see

him as a member of the team for one last ride into playoffs and maybe one more shot at the Larry O’Brien Trophy.

So we here at Jack want to say thank you to the Laker great with 5 of his best moments in the Purple and Gold.
