This fall, the Rolling Stones will debut not one but two different documentaries, one old and one new. While the brand new doc with HBO – in honor of their 50th anniversary as a band – was announced earlier this month, the premiere of the Stones’ first-ever documentary has just been announced.

Titled The Rolling Stones: Charlie Is My Darling – Ireland 1965, the filmfeatures the first professionally-filmed live performances of the Stones, documenting the rising act as they toured Ireland in 1965. The doc will premiere at the New York Film Festival on September 29 and October 3, at NYC’s Walter Reade Theater. However, perhaps “premiere” is not the right term: Charlie Is My Darling – Ireland 1965 first premiered in limited markets in 1966, but has been rarely seen through the years. It has been restored for this re-release, which will be followed a deluxe box set/Blu-Ray release on November 6.

As for brand new Stones tunes, Mick Jagger teased recent recording sessions in Paris via his Twitter. As Rolling Stonepoints out, all of the Stones were photographed leaving a Paris recording studio on August 21. The Stones gathered outside of New York earlier this summer for rehearsals and have said they are discussing future tour plans.

And as for that new Rolling Stones documentary, specifics such as title and air date have yet to be announced. HBO said the Brett Morgan-directed film, which utilizes 50-plus hours of new interviews, will air this fall. It is being made with the full involvement of current and former band members, including Bill Wyman and Mick Taylor.
