With more than fifty years of music making under his belt, Paul McCartney continues to reinvent himself. After spending the majority of a half century constructing and producing pop songs and rock hits, Sir Paul went in a direction many didn’t see coming earlier this year: he released an album of standards.

Kisses On The Bottom is McCartney’s salute to the songs and artists that inspired him, from the lead track “I’m Gonna Sit Right Down and Write Myself a Letter” (which inspired the album’s title) by Fats Waller in 1935 to Benny Goodman’s “The Glory Of Love” in 1936. To celebrate the launch of McCartney’s Kisses On The Bottom, Macca streamed a live performance of the album in its entirety to the world. Titled Live Kisses, the performance will now be available on DVD, Blu-ray and digitally November 13th.

McCartney’s performance saw him put down his signature Höfner bass and croon while accompanied by musical director Diana Krall (piano), John Clayton (bass), Karriem Riggins (drums), John Pizzarelli (guitar), Anthony Wilson (guitar), Mike Mainieri (vibraphone) and conductor Alan Broadbent. For the performance of the McCartney original “My Valentine,” the role of Eric Clapton on lead guitar was replaced by Eagles guitarist Joe Walsh.

Bonus material on Live Kisses will include six versions of the “My Valentine” music video, starring Johnny Depp and Natalie Portman, plus the “Making My Valentine” film. Additionally, two short films with behind-the-scenes footage of the Mary McCartney photoshoot and an interview with Sir Paul and producer Tommy LiPuma will be included.
