Remember back in the day when people would look strangely at you for believing there could possibly be life “on other planets?” It was just a science fiction dream that was scoffed at, but as we enter into the Age of Aquarius (yes, some of us at JACK FM are old-school hippies), the world/universe/galaxy is shifting into some radical new terrains and the one we find most intriguing is that NASA recently discovered WATER on Mercury.

Why is this remotely cool? Because Mercury is the closest planet to the sun and therefore the hottest. If Mercury can have water, well, who knows what is going on on other planets.

According to an article by Gizmondo, it’s not just a tiny pond of water, but “enough to cover Washington D.C. in ice.” Because there’s water, heat, etc, there’s also organic material a/k/a the “building blocks of life” and scientists think that it’s similar to how life started on Earth.

If the “world” really is ending, at least we know it might be possible to hitch a ride on the nearest comet to some remotely sustainable planet. OK, not this year, but sometime in the future maybe?
