Petition To Construct A Death Star Currently On White House Website. Make Your Voice Heard!

Here at JACK FM we rarely, if ever, take anything seriously, especially when it comes to politics. But today we found an issue that we feel is just too important to ignore. It’s an issue that requires every single one of our JACK FM listeners to stand up and, uh, make a stand!

We’re talking about building a Death Star. You know, the planet destroying, moon sized space station from Star Wars Death Star. And right now, there is currently a petition on to build such a station.

Due to the modern miracle we call the internet, we the people are allowed to voice our wants and desires directly to Washington. We now have the ability to create a petition online and let the citizens of this great country decide whether the issue is worth further consideration.

Should the petition to “Secure resources and funding, and begin construction of a Death Star by 2016” receive 25 thousand signatures by December 14, White House officials will be required to review the petition and issue a response.

At the time of writing, the petition has 6000 signatures. We need to make this happen. It’s our First Amendment right, and we should exercise it to the fullest.

“But why” you ask? “Why would we want to build a Death Star?”

We’ll let John D. Longmont of Colorado, creator of the petition explain:

By focusing our defense resources into a space-superiority platform and weapon system such as a Death Star, the government can spur job creation in the fields of construction, engineering, space exploration, and more, and strengthen our national defense.

If we work together, then together, we can make this happen. Make your voice heard. Make a difference. Go to the petition page and demand the construction of a Death Star. Then spread the word to as many people as you can. And God bless America.

*UPDATE, 12-13-2012: As of today, the petition reached the minimum 25k signatures needed for official government review. Good job, JACK FM listeners!
