Russian Snow Shortage Threatens 2014 Winter Olympics

If we can say anything about Russia, it’s that they’re prepared. How prepared, you ask? The 2014 Winter Olympics aren’t until, uh, 2014, which is still a year away and are being held in Sochi.

However, officials are concerned that they will not have enough snow for the Olympics due to snow shortage they are currently experiencing. It has been an unusually cold winter, reports, but despite the cold, very little snow has actually fallen. And as the old saying goes, no snow, no show.

So of course the only logical solution is to store roughly 118,877,424 gallons of snow high up in the mountains over the next year for use in the upcoming Olympics. Who came up with this cool idea? Someone who doesn’t own a snow making machine and is comfortable spending $11 million in storage fees.
