Legendary Smiths guitarist and winner of NME’s Godlike Genius Award, Johnny Marr has been appeasing the press circus with interviews about everything from being a teenage boy to Morrissey’s provocative life choices to his new solo album The Messenger, but when Guns N’ Roses‘ Duff McKagan sat down with him, he opened up even more about his “not-too-distant” future.

Apparently the multifaceted man is also working on a memoir.

“I guess [publishers] want me to give a load of dirt… obviously I’m not gonna do that. I’ve got a load of stories like yourself,” explained Marr to McKagan. “I’ve played with so many different musicians, just casually. Whether it’s David Crosby on the end of his bed or hanging out with Keith Richards, all of that stuff. People are kind of fascinated by it.

“I’ll tackle it one day in the not-too-distant future. I wanna do a couple more records, praise God. I’ll get that done, and then I’ll take some time out and do that.”

Currently, Marr is the middle of playing the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival and an upcoming Santa Barbara date with New Order, who just released full touring information today.
