We’re barely over a decade in, and we may have already just witnessed the crowning achievement of the 21st century, nay, the millennium: glow-in-the-dark sheep. Yes, you read that right. That is not a typo. Glow-in-the-dark-sheep, or GITDS, as we like to call them.

Scientists in Uruguay genetically modified sheep DNA by adding a protein from the Aequarea jellyfish that makes the sheep glow a phosphorescent green under UV light, according to

But other than looking like they’ve lived next to a nuclear power plant for too long, the sheep are perfectly normal, the scientists report. Check out the video below to see the glowing sheep in action.

Now you may be asking yourself why scientists would create GITDS. But we assure you, the real question is “why not?”
