Yep. It’s official. The X-Games and Los Angeles will be parting ways after this year. For the last 10 years ESPN’s X-Games have called Los Angeles home but in 2014, a new city will have that honor. ESPN has stated that it has narrowed its choices down to four cities for hosting honors of the 2014 games.

ESPN will announce later this summer which of Austin, TX, Chicago, Detroit or Charlotte, NC will be the host city for the next X-Games.

Personally I am rooting for Detroit because as the great Moe Syzlak once said, “dem folks is living in Mad Max times.” It’d be nice to see the city of Detroit get a win. (Cause god knows the Pistons or the Lions aren’t going to get it done)

The 2013 X-Games are still a go for August 1st-4th in Downtown LA but it will be the last for a while. Sad really. Now where I am supposed to get my live action fix for compound fractures? The parking lot at Dodgers Stadium?

Anyway, here’s Jake Brown taking a 40 foot plunge in the 2007 X-Games.
