The English are known for their expert ability at inebriation, so it makes sense that British heavy metal gods, Iron Maiden, know how to brew up some badass beer.
The musicians have teamed up with UK brewers Robinson’s to get the world drunk from the band’s signature Trooper beer, named after one of Maiden’s songs.
According to a press release on Maiden’s site, their frontman Bruce Dickinson is a hardcore beer lover.
“I’m a lifelong fan of traditional English ale; I thought I’d died and gone to heaven when we were asked to create our own beer,” said Dickinson. “I have to say that I was very nervous: Robinsons are the only people I have had to audition for in 30 years. Their magic has been to create the alchemical wedding of flavour and texture that is Trooper. I love it.”
Starting tomorrow, the beer will be available in Robinson’s pubs throughout the UK and, according to the press release, should also be released internationally this month via their website.
