Tony Hawk’s 1st Skateboard To Be Put On Display At The Smithsonian

Tony Hawk was born in Carlsbad, near San Diego, and cut his teeth in the pools, launch ramps, and half-pipes of Southern California. He first became a legend back in the 1980’s skating with Powell Peralta as a member of the Bones Brigade. His insane air and ability to pull off extremely difficult tricks quickly made him known as one of the premier vert skaters in the world.

Then came The 900 during the X Games Five followed by Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater.

Since then Hawk has remained on of the most influential skaters in the world. So much so in fact that the Smithsonian has announced the very first board Hawk ever owned, a Bahne board, is going to be put on display at the museum.

The board will officially be a part of the Smithsonian’s collection during Innoskate on June 22nd, reports TMZ. To that we say, congratulations!
