File under: duh. According to another study on social media, researchers have learned that Facebook makes people sad. All they have to do is ask us how we feel after hours of trolling through our friends’ baby pictures, running app updates, and general fake happiness that makes us want to listen to goth music in a dark room and weep.

The study hung out with 82 young adults and monitored them over two weeks to check-in on their various moods. They found that the more people used Facebook, the worse they felt when the researchers from University of Michigan hit them up on text message.

Shocking factoid: when people actually interacted with other people–viritually or IRL–they felt way better. None of that feed trolling.

The only usage of Facebook that will make you happier? JACK FM’s, of course. If only because our typos will make you feel smarter.
