Metallica‘s 3-D movie, Through The Never, has already generated a lot of buzz, and the infamous metal band are bouncing on that lightning bolt of press by premiering a pretty righteous live version of  their 1986 classic, “Master Of Puppets,” off the soundtrack album.

Out on September 24, the 2-CD soundtrack will have live performances all while telling the fictional story of a roadie named Trip who tries to retrieve an item and goes on a magical mystery tour instead. There’s death and metal and a deadly horsemen, basically everything you’d want from a Metallica film.

“Let’s hear it for the old-school soundtrack!” said drummer Lars Ulrich. “Not only are we beyond psyched about our movie coming your way shortly, but the fact that we get to share the music directly in all these formats is way f**kin’ cool.”

Through The Never comes to IMAX theatres in the United States for one-week, starting Friday, September 27.
