Holy Smokes! Seattle Thrift Shop Receives Greatest Donation Ever

When it comes to donations, most people tend to stick with old clothes, which is why one employee at a Seattle thrift shop was shocked when he looked inside a garbage bag someone left in their donation bin.

Upon peering inside the bag, he found someone had “donated” marijuana. And not just a trivial amount. Someone dropped off 2.5 pounds of the green stuff. For the uninitiated, that’s a lot of weed, potentially worth thousands of dollars, depending on the quality. Err, not that we’re experts or anything.

And even though recreational use of marijuana is legal in Washington, the exceptionally honest employee decided to contact the police anyway, who promptly confiscated the marijuana and will eventually destroy it, which is like a total bummer, man. Err, for those who like to smoke marijuana recreationally, that is.

The police, however, did release this funny statement regarding the incident, according to Katu.com:

“Donating to thrift shops is a terrific way to give a second life to your well-loved Velcro sneakers, keyboards or flannel zebra jammies,” but they say tires, soiled mattresses, laptops and bags of weed are not welcome.
