Weezer is letting it be known: the band is back in the recording studio and making new music.

Rivers Cuomo and crew have released a new 21-second video and is if the images of drum mike stands and guitars are to be believed, they’re in the midst of recording.

But while there’s no official announcements being made quite yet, fans do get a few quick snippets of new music, Namely, a pair of catchy guitar riffs, steeped in the Weezer tradition of power pop. The clip ends with a shot of Cuomo in a pair of spiffy white-framed glasses wearing his signature lightning bolt guitar strap.

Weezer was recently announced as one of four acts to perform after select Tampa Bay Devil Rays’ games as part of the the Rays Summer Concert Series. The band will take the field on June 7 after the hometown team takes on the Seattle Mariners. The other acts on the slate include the O’Jays, Imagination Movers and, everyone’s favorite children’s band, the Wiggles.
