You iPhone may seem invincible, but one single text message has the ability to shut it down.

The bug was first discovered by some Redditors and now word has spread like wildfire.

It’s a string of English, Arabic, Marathi and Chinese characters and when sent as a text message, it has the power to crash and reboot a phone or lock users out of the Messages app entirely.

What’s the message? We’ll post it below so you can be aware if it shows up on your phone, but seriously, DO NOT send this to anyone in your phone book. You don’t want to be “that guy.”

effective. Power لُلُصّبُلُلصّبُررً ॣ ॣh ॣ ॣ 冗

Here’s the good news. It doesn’t appear to cause any permanent damage. The bug doesn’t upload a virus or steal sensitive information. It’s just seriously annoying.

Apple is currently working on an update to fix the issue.
