Getting into a car accident is enough to ruin anyone’s day. But getting into an accident where there’s a chance you might be electrocuted? Well that’s just special, and it’s exactly what happened to a driver in Commerce this (Tuesday) morning.
At 5:30 AM, an unidentified man was driving down the 7600 block of Telegraph Road at Slauson Avenue when some dude in a truck cut him off, causing the man to swerve off the road and into a fire hydrant, which started spewing water into the air.
But Mr. Toad’s wild ride didn’t end there. His vehicle continued on, knocking down an electrical pole which then sent live wires onto the wet ground. And as we learned from that one time we dropped the blow dryer into the bathtub, water and electricity don’t mix.
The man was trapped in his vehicle for over an hour until authorities figured out a way to rescue him (turn off the power switch maybe? But what do we know). He was taken to the hospital for evaluation.
As of right now, Telegraph Road between Slauson and Greenwood is closed until further notice,.
