With the Powerball’s big $1.5 billion drawing reaching over $1.5 billion dollars, it’s no surprise that people are dreaming of what they’d do with their earnings if they won. Granted, most people won’t win, but those few dollars it takes to get a ticket sure do buy you a dream that makes it worth it. One lucky ticket holder will eventually have a chance to receive a massive windfall of cash. The over 10 million residents in Los Angeles County will be hoping it will be one of them, and as such will be glued to their TVs for the drawing. Although the grand prize winner won’t take home the full $1.5 billion with taxes taken out, Angelenos are rushing to buy their $2 Powerball tickets or $3 for a Power Play ticket, in hopes to strike gold.
1.) Buy The Playboy Mansion
As many are aware, the infamous Playboy Mansion came up for sale for $200 million recently. With your earnings from winning the lottery, why not purchase the most famous home in the world? The only caveat is that Mr. Hefner would be your resident. But, with the clout of owning the Playboy Mansion, who really cares? Plus, you have plenty of other money to buy other luxurious properties. Who wouldn’t love to say they own the infamous Playboy Mansion?
2.) Rent Out Disneyland For A Few Nights With Your Friends
As the happiest place on earth and a rite of passage for any Angeleno, Disneyland is never a bad place to visit. But, it’s also synonymous with massive crowds and tourists. Well that could certainly change if you had the money to use some of your winnings to rent out the park for a few nights and have the park to yourself. Forget the need to plan ahead and get there early, or get in the Fast Pass lane. Instead, throw a thousands of dollars at the park and enjoy all the rides you want at your leisure. Take pictures with infamous characters and enjoy the beautiful fireworks display too with all of your friends. Think of it as your own private theme park, for a time atleast.
3.) Become A Part-Owner in the New LA Rams Football Team
In case you missed the groundbreaking news, football is coming back to LA. From 1964 to 1994, The Los Angeles Rams were Los Angeles football royalty until they were relocated to St. Louis to the dismay of LA football fans. But, luckily, the tides have changed. Why not spend some of your easily earned winnings on being a stakeholder in the first LA football team in decades? A reported $2 billion stadium is going to be built to house luxury suites, and state of the art facilities that will be second to none in the entire world too. As an owner, you’d have some some serious bragging rights.
3.) Start Your Own Movie Studio
Aspiring actors flock to Los Angeles in hopes to attach themselves to agents, studios and Hollywood folk to become stars. Maybe you never had this dream, but everyone wants to be attached to celebrities, movies and the extravagance that comes with. So take some of that (not-so) hard earned cash and open up a new studio. Become a producer of multi-million dollar big budget films and all the hopeful fame, fortune and fun that comes with. Who knows, you may just come up with a hit and be invited and included at the Academy Awards!
4.) Get Your Own Malibu Beach Pad
You know you’ve made it when you’ve got a Malbiu beach pad. Known for our pristine beaches, Malibu offers some of the most pristine of them and is one of the most secluded and beautiful parts of LA filled with sandy beaches, bluff backed crescent coves, and rocky headlands. Now that you are rich, you can buy a multi million mega-mansion on the beach so that you have access to a private beach whenever you want. Don’t worry about the crowds, noise or parking as you now have a beach you (and those close to you) can call your own. You can even buy two or three just to get even more space. After all, money’s no object at this point!
5.) Rent Out The Hollywood Bowl
The legendary Hollywood Bowl, is one of America’s most storied outdoor concert amphitheaters and by far the best concert venue in Los Angelesm and arguably the world. Now that you have the money to do whatever you want, why not just rent the venue out instead of waiting and hoping for your favorite band to come and play. Invite them (and maybe another favorite band as an opener) to host a private concert for you and your friends. Rock the night out for a once in a lifetime experience that others can only dream about! Money can buy a lot of things these days.
6.) Give Back
You could of course be selfless and use atleast some of that after-tax money to help those in need. Help get those people that require and need your help get off the streets, train them for jobs and turn their life around. Good karma? We think so! Maybe you’ll end up winning the lottery again.
