'30 Rock' to Return to NBC in July for Hour-Long Special

With many shows currently on hiatus, NBC is turning back the clocks to give fans some new entertainment.

It was announced this week that "30 Rock" would be returning next month for a one-hour special, reports Variety.

The special was produced remotely and will serve as the 2020 upfront for NBCUniversal.

Tina Fey, Alec Baldwin, Tracy Morgan, Jane Krakowski, Jack McBrayer and others from the series will return for the one-hour special, which airs on July 16th.

NBC is describing the special as “a first-of-its-kind all-audience upfront event,” as normally upfronts are done to entice advertisers, not audiences.

The special comes after NBC also brought back another beloved series, "Parks and Recreation," for a one hour special at the start of quarantine.

The commercial free special will air on NBC, before being rebroadcasted on USA, Bravo, E!, Oxygen, SYFY, CNBC, and NBCU’s new service Peacock.

While not much is known about the "30 Rock" special, it was produced remotely and will include “the stories and talent featured in NBCUniversal’s 2020-21 television season.”

With the future of many shows' currently in question, fans are happy to see Liz Lemon and the gang back in their lives.
