‘Days of Our Lives’ Star Judi Evans Almost Had Legs Amputated After COVID-19 Diagnosis

June 10, 2020

It’s been a rough month for “Days of Our Lives” actress Judi Evans, who has been battling coronavirus following a May hospitalization.

Judi tested positive for the virus after she was admitted to the hospital for falling off a horse in Los Angeles.

Her rep, Howie Tiger Simon, said she suffered a broken collarbone, seven broken ribs, two chipped vertebra, and a collapsed lung.

Shortly after, she also came down with “mild” COVID-19 symptoms including fever, aches, and a cough.

In a Facebook post, Simon notes she has been in the hospital for “23 days now and counting.”

From there, doctors found blood clots in her legs that required surgery.

"She nearly had both legs amputated on two different occasions," the rep said. "On top of everything, when she went into surgery on one of her legs, they forgot to numb the leg and cut into her leg while she was fully conscience with no numbing of the area!"

Despite all the health complications, Simon noted that Judi is staying positive.

"However speaking to her on Sunday, she was in good spirits and back to Judi 'humor' despite all these spiraling turn of events. She has said she appreciates all the prayers for her and they’ve helped her mentally, physically and spiritually!" the rep said. "She just wants to continue to test negative on COVID19 before she can go home and get the rest she so needs!!!"

Judi spoke with “Good Morning America” on Tuesday, revealing that she requested the COVID-19 test when her fever began spiking.

"They had taken down a few tests without a mask on," she said. "[They tested me] and it came back positive."
