Two unlikely opponents went at each other on Twitter Wednesday night, as Guns N’ Roses frontman Axl Rose and US Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin had a war of words, and flags.

Bassist Duff McKagan’s wife Susan Holmes McKagan appeared on a podcast telling fans the band has been “working fastidiously” on new material and the bits she’s heard has been “pretty epic.”

“Onstage it was getting harder and harder to hear the guitars, even hear the keys, and I was basically going on muscle memory.”

The Guns N' Roses frontman was responding to comments by press secretary Sarah Sanders.

Axl Rose joked to the audience that Grohl "just happened to be in the neighborhood."
